Support of Active Chapters

Miles apart but close at heart.png

One role of alumnae associations is to provide support to an active chapter of Alpha Delta Pi. Since our Alpha Xi Chapter is closed and our membership widespread, we are able to provide support in creative ways.

The Board of Directors decided to reach out to chapters to see who is amenable to and in need of alumnae support. Our 2016-2017 partnership was with Gamma Theta Chapter at the University of Mount Union. Our partner chapter for 2018-2019 was Chi - Wittenberg! Our newest partner starting in 2020 is Eta Eta at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. We are excited to work with this wonderful group of intelligent women!

 Ohio State Formal Recruitment
January 2022

Even though our chapter continues to be inactive, we endeavor to maintain our presence at Ohio State and to be good Panhellenic sisters.  This year due to COVID precautions we were unable to volunteer and assist during The Ohio State University’s Formal Recruitment weekends. We were able to provide morning donuts to the the Rho Gams and other volunteers during the last weekend of recruitment to show our support. 856 new women found a home at one of OSU’s Panhellenic sororities. Quota was 56 with total chapter sizes at 197.

2021 Week of Service Knitting

The sisters from Eta Eta were interested in learning to knit and help out to help us with our annual Week of Service event. This was a great opportunity for us to get together and refresh our skills.

Eta Eta sisters came together on Zoom to learn to knit.  Their new knitting skills will allow them to participate in Alpha Xi's Week of Service activity by knitting blanket squares. #PartnerChapters

2020 Eta Eta Visits the Ronald McDonald House in Sioux Falls, SD

The Ronald McDonald House in Sioux Falls is a 6-hour drive for the Eta Eta sisters in Rapid City, SD.  A donation from the Alpha Xi Chapter Alumnae Association made the trip possible.

The Eta Eta sisters helped prepare the house to address issues related to the Coronavirus Pandemic and assembled the new dining room chairs.

Summer of 2020 some Alpha Xi sisters got together to sew handmade masks for the members of Eta Eta.

The members loved having matching masks they could wear around campus and recruitment events tying them together.

Recruitment

Many of us knew this as "formal rush." Remember the first round where we went to all 18 houses in one day? Ohio State now has 17 national sororities which are members of the Panhellenic Association. The Greek community comprises 12% of the Ohio State student body. Potential members must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA and 12 college credit hours obtained through regular course enrollment at a college campus.

Formal recruitment at Ohio State 2022 will be a combination of virtual and in-person events beginning the second week of January 2022.

Go to alphadeltapi.org to complete the potential new member and legacy introductions for any Alpha Delta Pi Chapter. Remember, it only takes a spark...

A legacy is a sister, daughter, or granddaughter of an initiated member of Alpha Delta Pi.
